What do you like best?
Once used to the methodology, it works, but there are still unnecessary hoops to jump through.
What do you dislike?
It is not user friendly; it will bounce back and wrongly categorize receipts; once tied to a transaction it is nearly impossible to remove a receipt from a transaction.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The learning curve is steep.

There are no benefits besides being used through the university.

Chrome River’s Help Center offers step-by-step processes enabling end-users like you to get up and running with quick start videos, tutorials, FAQ’s and more. In addition, Chrome River offers authorized users access to Chrome River University, where live classes are taught and recorded for playback, on all products and features within Chrome River’s suite of applications.
Regarding receipts, when a receipt is merged with a credit card transaction, whether through automation or manually by the end-user, a simple click on the "unlink" button above the amount will separate the receipts. Receipt technology capitalizes on OCR to capture key information with more than 85% accuracy, and continues to improve with advances in machine learning.

I like that you can email receipts easily.
What do you dislike?
It’s super annoying to start a report or add items to a report. It’s counterintuitive and after using it several times I still struggle with it a bit when first creating a report. My older colleagues REALLY struggle with it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I don’t like the software honestly. Id compared with other similar softwares and focus on ease of use in selecting expense reporting software.

It’s supposed to help us submit expenses for the corporate card. It has reduced input because it links directly to the card.

How it automatically links most receipts to purchases.
What do you dislike?
The fact that it makes my job so much harder.

If you have to deal with multiple student organizations using your purchasing card get ready for a headache.

Not having to submit paper receipts is nice l, but the cons outweigh the benefits.

Many of our customers use both travel (business) cards and Purchasing cards. We have multiple solutions to address having users with both cards including separate profiles and the ability to label each as they are interfaced into Chrome River. At any time, customers can add, modify or delete expense types to accommodate their needs to simplify the entry process.

What do you like best?
I like that my employer uses an interconnected system for tracking travel and reimbursement expenses. Everything is linked here, and CR guides you to accurately complete your information.
What do you dislike?
Quite frankly, Chrome River has an ugly aesthetic. It looks clunky and, at times, it acts clunky. Its dated appearance, and clear preference for PC-based users, makes it inaccessible for a wide variety of users.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
CR Expense enables my company to easily track and reimburse expenses. It cuts down on the workflow for those in HR. It provides a stream--a entirely straight, but winding river--of expense flow that one can check and upon which, report.

It doesn’t use paper, although it might work better if it did.
What do you dislike?
All of my coworkers complain about having to deal with Chrome River. It is klunky and the interface doesn’t make sense. Many times the menus are context sensitive, but their contents don’t actually change, so you aren’t aware that the functions provided by the menu items have changed. And it doesn’t always change, so you end up just poking around every time you use it, as if it’s the first time, because you don’t really know how it works because the menus and behavior are so inconsistent.

We report credit card usage. Personally, I haven’t realized any benefits.
