Amazon MX Player

MX Player is a popular Indian video-on-demand platform that began as a local media player in 2011 and transitioned into a full-fledged OTT streaming service in 2019. Initially developed as an offline video player for Android, it evolved into an entertainment hub offering movies, web series, TV shows, and international content dubbed in regional Indian languages. The platform supports both free, ad-supported streaming and a paid subscription model known as MX Gold.

Available across Android, iOS, smart TVs, web browsers, and even integrated within the Amazon shopping app, MX Player delivers over 150,000 hours of content. The platform supports eleven languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, and others, making it accessible to a wide Indian audience. Its features include gesture-based controls, multi-device sync, offline downloads, and personalized watchlists. In 2024, Amazon acquired MX Player and merged it with its own miniTV platform, rebranding it as Amazon MX Player. This integration strengthened Amazon’s position in the free streaming space, offering users seamless access to both platforms’ content.
