What do you like best?
I am unaware of what I like best about it because everything I used to like about it seems like it has been washed out the drain hose when this software was made commercial.
What do you dislike?
It was ruined and the whole philosophy of the original open source zenoss was gone when this software went commercial. It worked very well back in 2014 when you could monitor and graph SNMP devices, have awesome alerts through email, text, and land line phone calls. The interface was a balance between complex and simple if you just took some time to learn it and earn it. Last time I tried to load the open source version of Zenoss there was some kind of terrible simplification front end that just made it terrible.

check out some of the other free / low cost offerings out there.

I'm not solving any because I use a superior software now.

Was not very stable in our particular environment

Make sure the solution will integrate to wathever elements you need. Multi-tenancy was an issue for us as well.

You can get Zenoss to do just about anything, including problem resolution.
What do you dislike?
Getting it to do just about anything can require some effort. In fact a lot of effort as you will end up redoing some of your templates as they will almost certainly get accidentally overwritten by other admins.

Any sizable deployment will require one FTE to keep this system relevant.

A ton of features and customizations. I am able to monitor per interfacedevice in a whole. I can monitor all devices within my infrastructure.

I dislike how it is biased towards Linux and CLI-familiar users. It is also somewhat complex to install.
