What do you like best?
I don't use Workplace much. It's easy to use if you use Facebook.
What do you dislike?
I get too many unwanted notifications from Workplace.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Easy to share media with employees in company.
What do you like best?
It's a familiar platform that most are comfortable using.
What do you dislike?
Besides messaging it's does not provide resources comprehensive business resources that I had hoped for.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Communication but that can be done elsewhere.
What do you like best?
This software does not meet my needs or the needs of my team. GIFs are fun, but a complete time-waster. I would never recommend this product to anyone in a business setting. It reminds me of MSN Messenger from when I was a kid - except without the status and other functionality of that program, so there's no way kids/teenagers would use something like this.
What do you dislike?
"Chat" function is missing basic features like status (available/offline/busy and the ability to group contacts. It is also not secure, so we are unable to share files through chat. The screen share option is only available one-on-one and after a video call is initiated. There is no integration with email or calendars (Outlook, which would be useful if there was a status indicator - ideally when one is in a meeting, their status should automatically update to "in a meeting" or "busy". Instead, we all get desktop notifications all the time. Also - the desktop notifications link to the website (when clicked instead of opening up the desktop app. What's the point???
The website is useless for Corporate groups that don't have any non-sensitive information to share. It's mandatory to follow certain executives, and my newsfeed is full of posts from random people that I have never and will never interact with. No one in my department uses the website. We've all downloaded the chat app so that we never have to open the Workplace site.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Wait. This program has potential, but it's still in beta form, and nowhere near ready to handle big organizations. They're missing basic features and have made no adjustments since the first wave migrated over (despite lots of recommendations/complaints. They're just too small and too new for a company like ours.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
This replaced an outdated software that is no longer supported by Microsoft, but has decreased productivity overall. We're missing basic features like calendar syncing, file sharing, contact organization, and status.
What do you like best?
I like the idea of some kind of social networking within the office, but not convinced it plays out as intended.
What do you dislike?
I dislike the many notifications it sends.. including mobile "push" notifications by default. I also dislike that once you click the notification, it will show that you've seen the post. (Bad if I'm playing on my phone during a meeting when I shouldn't be!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This might just be an "extra" that is really too "extra" - I'd carefully consider the actual need, and what information/photos might be shared here. If the sharing won't actually benefit anyone, I think this might just be an extra membership to a website we don't really use... and all those memberships can be overwhelming.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
we operate in many different countries, so it's a good way to share pictures of team events and share accomplishments. it's also cool to see when other countries/sales people upload pictures of our product in different stores around the world
What do you like best?
It keeps the same simple interface from Facebook, The Facebook design itself isn't terrible. The colors are pleasing to the eye.
What do you dislike?
I'll be honest, I don't like it, if I wanted to spend time on social media then I'll do that, we have this at my job and I'm not the biggest fan. Some people have taken to posting on it rather than sending emails and it gets frustrating. I once had to check one place to get all of the info I needed for work but now I have to check two separate places. Now while company crucial information isn't posted there for obvious reasons the pain of having to go to a separate place to get bulletins is just irritating. The interface is copy pasted from Facebook, so imagine if you will a facebook of no political ramblings but of random articles pertaining to your job copy and pasted from the internet. It's basically a spam fest for random information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you think the Social Media approach works for your company or will work then give it a try. I personally find it to be a distraction rather than productive.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
None and None. I in fact make the case that it lowers productivity, by having to go there and look through a feed instead of just getting an email in my inbox it makes for a rather time consuming effort if you try to keep up on it.
