WRITE A REVIEWEDIT: Removing an additional star, because honestly, I could not be more appalled by this company. Not only did they make zero attempts to correct or apologize for the way they treated me, but they successfully got Appsumo to censor my review and then tried to do the same thing here on trustpilot, claiming I hadn't had a genuine experience. Alas, what do you do when you still have full access to the platform you paid for, and can video screenshare it with trustpilot's compliance team + you have the invoices, and even the email invites to the meeting mentioned in this review. Shame on you videopeel team, at least apologize. ____I bought their product via an appsumo deal, and actually stacked a couple codes to get more videos. If you aren't familiar with Appsumo, it's a platform that software companies like Videopeel use to gain momentum and users, at cheap, but they have to offer a crazy awesome deal where it is some form of the product for lifetime for one set price. Anyway, all good, product seemed ok. But the real issue I had was their poor attitude. First they tried upselling a pretty crucial feature for $1000 a month. But after sharing with them multiple ideas, why this wasn't the best idea, and how they could grow faster with businesses like ours they got defensive, called me, "their customer", - Aggressive and essentially cut me off. Then the Co-Founder, continued to defend this behavior, tried to censor my negative review, and just all around left me really ticked off enough to spread this. In the 20+ years I've been in business, I've rarely if ever left a negative review, but this just warrants it. Too many businesses think they can treat customers poorly, have zero respect, and get away with it. Well, not with me. Before you get excited about these guys, know what you are in for. I regret my purchase because at the end of the day you want to work with businesses that respect people especially their customers.
They don't tell you this beforehand, but VideoPeel has an arbitrary "30-day written notification requirement" in order to pause or end your account.Super predatory. At least the cable company can pretend that they have equipment to restock when they do this, but VideoPeel does this with a software subscription.
What do you like best?
The idea is smart, it solves a real problem for ecom businesses, and over-all looks like a promising tech.

In short the team. Zero Professionalism. Shockingly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Think about whether you are ready to pay $1000 a month just to be able to integrate this with any other platform. I bought it on App Sumo, expecting to actually have a tool we could use, only to be upsold a week later to be able to integrate it with Shopify for $1000 a month. When I asked why so much, their sales rep replied because we give you a success manager. I said, ok, I don't need a success manager, I'd actually prefer to be able to do everything on my own, and not need external assistance, and by that token pay less each month. In fact, I added "most retailers using shopify+ would feel the same way, and you'd do a lot better and scale faster if you didn't have to provide success managers to every single client. (The kicker: I said, "No offense to the success manager on the call")
At this point the sales guy essentially lost it, he called me "aggressive" and ended the call. The co-founder continued this stupidity and even tried to get my review censored.
In a world that is speeding faster than ever before, no business can survive by not being honest with their customers, or by lacking the basic business etiquette. You just don't call your customer "aggressive" and hang up, unless they were truly appalling and swearing on the phone.
I just can't stand behind a company that behaves this way, and felt the need to share it with anyone who might come across this platform.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
