The most helpful thing about Tripactions is from the organizational perspective. It provides oversight on employee T&E costs as well as efficient reporting to allow easier tracking of t&e budget. It also allows you to put price restrictions that limit employee spend, making it easier to enforce your t&e policy.

It is also helpful to have a trip actions representative call airlines or hotels on your behalf. You no longer need to spend time on hold if a flight or accommodation is cancelled.

From an end user perspective it is a bit limiting. The choices for flights and accommodations can be limited.They also need a better process for booking a flight on behalf of someone else.

I like the web based UI. It's straight forward, provides a lot of flexibility and is easy to understand.

My primary concern was in the prices I was seeing online. I would run flights through Trip Actions and then look on the airline's website I was looking to fly for the same flights. More than half the time, I would find the prices were less on the airline's website. The only way I could use Trip Actions to buy those tickets at the lesser price was to call or "chat" with Trip Actions, creating an extra step and adding more churn to the process of buying an airline ticket.

The interface of the tool is easy enough to use without any formal training, works just like any consumer travel booking site. Flights booked through TripActions still coded as travel on my credit card so I got those sweet, sweet points.

I can’t find cheaper flights on Google Flights. This is where I don’t fully understand what benefit I have to book through TripActions versus any other site. Flight options are limited in TripActions as some airlines just aren’t an option so you end up choosing a more expensive, less conveniently timed flight than what you know is available.

Clear choices and overall clean user interface. Particularly for flights, I appreciate how it lets you compare different options and breaks down your cost. I've also found that the customer support is extremely helpful and easy to access. I also like how it lets you easily include your own loyalty programs, which is hugely important for me and my colleagues. I also like the ability to track whose in the air at any given time. It's a neat feature that adds to our overall impression that it's a thoughtful piece of software.

The overall value add of the deals it finds is unclear. It doesn't appear to actually save you that much money and it's expensive given it charges per trip. It also doesn't seem to identify certain flights and hotel rooms that I would have chosen were I using another platform such as Kayak.
