Since choosing Third Light nearly ten years ago, The Scout Association has used its powerful functionality and capabilities to store, retrieve and share high quality brand assets. Both our headquarters team and network of communications volunteers use the library on a daily basis when putting together both print and online resources. The system is reliable, intuitive and the range of admin facilities makes it easy to manage and maintain. Have used Third Light for many many years now with never so much as a day's downtime or interrupted service. Support requests are dealt with quickly, accurately by knowledgeable and friendly technicians. Would have given 5 stars if the company could offer customised developments/modifiations for a fee, for functionality not already offered as standard. Sadly this isn't currently an option. That being said, the functionality will cover over 95% of users' needs. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a good all-round digital assets management system.
As a company we recently started using Third light. The software itself is very innovative covering various business needs within our company. Sharing media have become very simple with different sharing method offered by Third light.No more attaching heavy files to emails taking up space on in-premises file storage. No more emails being blocked because of large file size and so on.Third light still have some areas to improve but they're constantly fixing bugs and adding new features with their monthly version updates.Finally, I have to say that they have one of the best Support team I've dealt with in my career so far. Even their development team get in touch with you via their forum page.Nearly any customisation is possible.
What do you like best?
Large feature set but with the ability to streamline based on user permissions and needs. Handles video (especially professional video formats) better than any system we've tested (and that includes over 50 DAM solutions). Also handles virtually any other file format used in creative environments. Customer service is superb. Also like that fact that Thirdlight manages hardware and software, so there is only one point of contact for support. We've been using the system for 3 years for a large client and there has never been a single technical problem or any downtime in that period. They are also the only company we've found that will ingest existing assets at deployment for FREE. This is a HUGE time saver and a key component of getting a system up and operating quickly for a client.
What do you dislike?
User interface is not the most intuitive out there, although it's still highly functional. Some menus and workflow steps can be confusing. Sharing files is not as easy as other systems and confuses our client occasionally.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
