I have used springahead for 3 years. The pricing started out reasonable them in may 2021 i was sent a long email of the new pricing and buried down in the email was the statement that my account would go to the use of mobile use and that i was automatically opted in to the new pricing. "SpringAhead Mobile is available for $25 per time license, while SpringAhead Basic is available for $12 per time license.
We are upgrading you automatically." I went from $7 per user to $25 per user. I had no choice they just opted me in to the new price and charged my credit card. I now must opt out of what they automatically opted me into. They will not refund my money. They said i should have read the email more closely.
What do you like best?
It is very easy to use and not complicated

If you leave the page, it will automatically erase what you entered. A message pops up asking if you're sure you want to leave the page. I just wish they had a temporary save function

Spring Ahead makes it very simple from a user standpoint to enter time and expenses. As an administrator, it is easy to add projects and users by syncing to QuickBooks. From an accounting standpoint, it is easy to pull invoices out of Spring Ahead and approve time and expenses.
What do you dislike?
I do not like that Spring Ahead doesn't have an app or any way to simply upload receipts by snapping a photo. It would be much easier if you could add a photo of your reciept through an app rather than having to scan the reiciept and upload it to the computer then to Spring Ahead. If you have 50-100 reciepts or expenses in a month, it can become very cumbersome to individually enter line item expenses.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If Spring Ahead is being used for a small organization it works very well. When the company starts to grow and there are employees working remotely, using spring ahead can become rough. There is no app and some people do have a hard time figuring out how to use it.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We get expenses approved much faster with Spring Ahead. It makes it very easy to view attachments and see details of each expense as well as with time. The calendar view makes seeing everyone's time entry very easy.
What do you like best?
I think the best part of SpringAhead would be the ability to put a week’s time in at once.
What do you dislike?
I dislike the amount of time it takes to look back at reports from past weeks.

I am not sure as it doesn’t solve problems for me.

The layout offers an easy 'at-a-glance' for all hours in a given week.
What do you dislike?
My chief complaints are that it times out without notification and it doesn't copy over to the next week.
So if I keep it open while working on a project, when I return to enter time, it will let me, but I won't know until I hit [save] that it's actually timed out and all the time I just entered has not been recorded.
Week to week, it doesn't automatically copy over the Project Type and Task columns to the next week. The burden is on me to either recreate all 30 client projects each week. There is a 'copy previous' but that copies all the individual time entries as well. This makes it possible to skew your hours without realizing it by overlooking time that had been previously entered, but is not valid for the current week.
So, if I want to start a week with clean listing of my client projects and enter time fresh, I have to create a week with all zeroes, then copy that week for several weeks out.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We use it to keep track of billable hours per client. It's what our finance department wants us to use, so I'm assuming they've realized benefits. As an end user, I cannot speak to this.
