Great extensibility -- allows us to create components using standard .NET, and the users can drag and drop those components on any page they choose. The MVC flavor allows us to customize the HTML without it adding a bunch of extra code. Great permissions / user setup. Inline editing is nice. The Multi-site component allows us to spin up a new website in a matter of minutes.

Upgrading to a new version tends to be a crapshoot -- sometimes it works great, sometimes it introduces issues that take a few days to fix. The initial load screen on an app refresh is painfully slow.

Stay with the MVC flavor.

Standard CMS stuff -- how to have users create web pages while still maintaining a common look and feel, and introducing custom code inside the CMS.

As a developer, some of the most boring tasks when it comes to developing websites is making content changes such as updating photos and changing copy. CMS's solve this problem by taking these changes out of developer hand's and give the power back to content managers. Many CMS's while attempting this try and fail and developers end up making the changes anyway. Not with Sitefinity, it has easiest UI for content managers to change. Drag and Drop controls and rich text editing have never been easier.

For developers, it also takes a lot of SCUT work out of making changes and lets them get back to more interesting problems. I've not run into a problem I have not been able to solve with Sitefinity yet.

The biggest thing I dislike about Sitefinity is the price. It's clearly not meant for smaller businesses which has priced many of my clients out of the market. Another negative for me is that the product's base is Web Forms. However, they have made some headway into the MVC space, it still not a purely MVC product.

If your primary content managers are non-technical Content Managers, then Sitefinity is for you. If your primary content managers are very technical like a developer another CMS may be up your alley.

Most of the problems I solve with Sitefinity are content related. Most of my clients have issues maintaining their own content and Sitefinity has solved that problem for them. I have done other projects that involved an active web community. This allowed the business to interact with customers and allowed customers to share their ideas and thoughts.

Accessibility and usability. Page creation and managing the content is very easy even for non-IT personnel .

This CMS enables various personnel - not just the tech-savvy people - to add and manage content. For example, someone who writes for the company blog can simply access the CMS, write and edit their blog post, maybe add an image or two and publish it without having to, say, submit work to the web designer or developer and wait for them to add it to the site.

As from Developer perspective, I am a big fan of Fluent APIs which Sitefinity offers.

We discovered many problems with Sync architecture and reported to Telerik. Sitefinity Sync Logs are misleading. Also, External URLs are not going off to Sync list. Environment instability caused by site sync.Captcha Image Issue with Load Balanced Environment. These are some of the major aspects which i don't like.

Yes, you can definitely rely on it but please consider it's Syncing before go ahead. On load balanced/ multisite environment we faced many problems.

We need a super easy, cost effective, reliable CMS which also should be blazing fast when it comes to web page load for end-user. We found Sitefinity to address these all problems and help achieve these business goals.

Content blocks are awesome, there is a great chance to edit on the go and be really accurate

The best thing on Sitefinity is the "Drag & Drop" Page Editor itself.

I must say, that the performance is not the best.

If you add more and more dynamic modules and languages, the system is in the end very slowly.

This is not depending on the server. This is a problem of the sitefinity core.

The biggest benefit of sitefinity is, that you can extend very much.
