WRITE A REVIEWMight be good for Australians and New Zealanders, but not too good for UK citizens. The support, even on the top plan (which promises 'priority' support) is VERY slow. Tonight I have waited up until 11:45pm in the hope that someone will talk to me on Livechat, as I am having BIG problems setting my portfolios up, but even though they promise Livechat support from 11pm I've just had complete silence. I will give it until midnight and then I will have to call it a night.So far I've been sat here for 45 minutes in the vain hope that someone will say 'hi' back to me. It does say they can take up to 4 hours (hardly priority) to reply so that means as a Brit I could be sat here until 3am before I hear anything.Part of my reason for being so motivated to stay up until 11.45pm is that I've been waiting over a day for a reply to a support email. When they promised 'Priority' support on their top plan I was expecting something a little quicker than a two day turnaround. It makes it very hard to solve a problem, which in the early days of using such a system is to be expected, as you are going to need some best practice advice.As for the system itself, it looks good. I haven't had much chance to put it to the test as the trial version only allows for one portfolio and I needed multiple. Alas, when I took out an upgrade for the top level I was scuppered from the get-go due to serious limitations with the categories.It was also a disappointment to find out that the 'Community Forum' that they promise no longer exists. I think it has been gone for some time, but yet they still make promises about it on the web site.I must say, the top level plan, which isn't cheap at over £200 per year, has a lot of limitations. Why only 5 portfolios. I ate that up instantly just with my brokerage account, my wife's brokerage account, an etoro account, a US brokerage account and the portfolio I have at my bank. I don't think I am atypical either. I would have though 10 would at least give some wriggle room.It is also odd that you can put in things like property and yet there's no way of entering gold, even though gold is clearly a tracked commodity in all major markets.Another problem is integration with brokers. They have LOTS of integrations for Australian and New Zealand brokers, but in the UK I think there are only a couple, and NONE of the brokers I use in the UK or US are listed, not one. I did try bringing in trades using the email import, but it didn't work even though I am sure I set it up correctly. I gave up in the end as it was easier to enter trades manually than faff around with a flakey email input routine.So the bottom line is that if you are in Australia or New Zealand you're good to go as far as support is concerned as it is ALL 100% on your time and not at all on UK time- not one bit - unless you are a night owl.If you are in the UK it might be okay if you are happy to do everything manually and not have any timely support.UPDATE: You've been selling in UK for over a year (and giving impression in sales copy that it's designed for UK) so you've had plenty of time to sort out UK support. It's wrong to charge people for 'premium' support when you know that's not what they're going to get, and advertising 'Community Forum' that doesn't exist at all isn't right.As for me paying yet more money (I'm already on the top plan) to have more portfolios just seems weird. I am not a 'Pro' user with a multimillion dollar fortune or a financial advisor. I'm pretty typical I'd say. My wife and I each have a UK brokerage account, each have an Etoro account, and each have a portfolio of funds with our bank. Plus I have a crypto account and a US brokerage account. So that's 8 portfolios. Between us we only have maybe 30 to 40 holdings so nothing complex. The tight restrictions on Sharesight means it is ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to enter this simple set-up. I've spent a week trying to figure it out and got absolutely nowhere. I just keep hitting dead ends.As for the importing of emails I've tried it several times and always get errors even though everything seems fine. I gave on that in the end too. I'd reach out on Livechat, but I like to get to bed before midnight. And if you are genuinely providing a service to UK users then you should at least integrate with all the major UK brokers, which you haven't done at all. I think it is 2 in the UK and 50 or more in Aus and NZ. And services like Etoro are now huge in Europe, but again there's zero integration.I had high hopes, but now realise it isn't at all ready for the UK, and I think your number of portfolios harks back to simpler times when people had far few accounts than they do now.
I had yearly subscription to sharesight investor plan. This was working ok till I changed my investment strategy to use share CFDs instead of shares. Sharesight does not record share CFD transactions which makes it completely useless for me.Now, thinking that I don't want to auto renew it next time, I downgraded plan - which instead of taking effect towards the end of yearly subscription, downgraded immediately. I thought since cancellation happened immediately, I would receive refund regarding the same. But, their policy does not provide refund as well.My simple question is, why downgrade the plan or allow downgrading the plan if there is no refund? If you downgraded, you need to provide refund. Or you should only downgrade when plan term is complete.Customer service is too slow as well. Every message I sent takes 2-3 days to respond and I don't get straight answer as well.Pathetic service and pathetic policies. Never coming back to sharesight again either way.
The platform seems to be very buggy and they have very poor customer support. With no phone number and no one to respond to chat requests. Very disappointing.
I have tried this service - paid version - but there is a lot of bugs with connection to broker which makes this service unreliable. Support is very poor - it takes days to get very generall nothing solving answer.
Paid $279 AUD for an "investor plan" for nothing. Wanted to use the 7 day trial on this plan to test things out, but they charged me immediately. The app is full of bugs mostly related to refresh-related to charts, during FX transaction entry, deleting a cash account and creating a new one, or creating custom investments etc.The support is super slow and unfriendly. My request for a refund after finding too many bugs was simply ignored.Don't use it if are in Australia and mostly invest using US stock exchanges. The cash trading reconciliation does not work with USD. Its useless.Don't use it for Crypto, it is pretty useless and highly inaccurate because of the refresh issues when you enter the position as FX. They also forget to advertise that they don't support CFDs... in this day and age. The "diversification report" is useless. Instead of region of the business or cap size it provides reporting on the country of the exchange :) seriously do these people know anything about investment risk management? They seem to be great at tax accounting in Australia for people who own Australia stocks. That's about it. Tech is also not their expertise. Apart from the bugs, and the refresh issues, and the fact that in most browsers the tab freezes often, the implementation of groups and labels is pretty poor and provide very little flexibility to users when it comes to reporting. Don't waste your time with labels, you can't do anything useful with them. The advertising on the website suggesting that this replaces excel is hilarious. Trying to get users to pay another two hundred bucks for standard reporting like portfolio contribution per instrument is dam-right offensive after seeing the lack of quality and flexibility of the reports included in the investor plan.Unless you are an Australian user, who owns only ASX stock, and needs to do some capital gains tax reporting. Stay well away from this mess of a product and hold on to your excel spreadsheet.
