What do you like best?
It does as expected. You enter the data and it gives the right output. Very reliable.

It is very rigid. Leaves very few options to the user that has literally to choice but to comply.

very customizable and accomplishes all the goals the advertising says it does and does it well

What do you dislike?
Extremely difficult transition process from other platforms. Paid consultants large amounts of money to assist and still resulted in very poor go live.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
SAP has to make assisting their clients with a more structured less costly transition plan upfront. Clients are spending large sums of money on consultants with minimal guidance unless you pay the extremely pricey SAP costs. Our mapping process was done very poorly and greatly underestimated the transition time.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
The transition went so poorly we dropped SAP and transitioned to Oracle.
What do you like best?
It is Miniature version of all versions of SAP Module.
Good for small enterprises who cannot afford to buy expensive SAP Modules
What do you dislike?
1. Not much people available in market to support SAP Business One and need to be dependent on SAP.
2. when transactions increases Performance decreases.
3.No flexibility to fine tune the performance by the local IT Team.
4. Lack of documentation

As Long as Business is small with less volumes of transactions, it supports all the functions of the organisation.

SAP Business One was already purchased by our client and they needed our help to increase the performance.
We were successful in improving the performance.
What do you like best?
Screens are user friendly, it uses a SQL database and crystal reports along with it''s native reporting utility. Users can add fields and modify screens. Look up screen it's a reporting utility in itself. Seems very stable. System can lock periods to allow accountant to control accidental postings to wrong periods. Screen are simple.
What do you dislike?
Users can get financials by posting date, document date or due dates??? Financials should only be available by fiscal or calendar periods and always by the transaction date. Customer support is lacking badly. You get better results by googling your issues. Processing payments involves a lot of clicking. The system posts the costs of a sales when deliveries are created, it them records the revenue when the invoice is created off that delivery. It should record both at the time of invoicing. If the product has not left your facility the delivery is just a departmental transfer. Customer balance screens are hard to read. General journal entries need to be reconciled??? It does not do commissions, period. Accounts payable balances also hard to read.

If your implementation budget is large there are better options. Evaluate in depth

Lot tracing, backflushing, costing, etc. It was of limited use.
