What do you like best?
This is one area I would give kudos: The user interface and ability to manage SINGULAR products is effective, better than building and maintaining SKUs directly in our eCommerce system
What do you dislike?
The system doesn't do 80% of what we were promised when sold the platform as a solid PIM/PXM option to interface and feed our BigCommerce platform. If you use product families, variants, custom attributes, or anything outside of a VERY vanilla B2C feature set with extremely well-defined endpoints that happen to align with the stock fields in Salsify, THIS SOFTWARE IS NOT FOR YOU... RUN AWAY!
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Frankly, this software has CAUSED more problems and issues for us than it has solved. The only benefit is that I know to never recommend this platform to anyone who asks my opinion about PIMs.
What do you like best?
Best feature is probably that it is a web-based.
What do you dislike?
Their are a number of things that are frustrating with this platform but my biggest issue is the inability to make bulk edits within the system. To do them you have to export products to excel, make your changes offline, and then upload the new file. This process is tedious and ends up creating a ton of excel files as a result.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a small shop then it would probably be fine. But if you live in your PIM and have a greater than 1000 SKU's i would probably look elsewhere.

The goal was to consolidate all of our product management into one locations.

Helps organize data in a way that's easy to filter and access
What do you dislike?
Does not allow a lot of customization and can be tedious and time consume to do updates

Very good for retail purposes, not the best for other organizational projects on websites.

Solving organizational problems for displaying data on a website. Helps improve user interface and speed for users searching through the data
What do you like best?
Salsify is a great platform to use and catalog assets organized by SKU. It has helped our organization streamline the sharing of digital assets company-wide and with outside vendors.
What do you dislike?
It could be our implementation but with the way our feeds come into Salsify it is a chaotic mess with empty products and missing information. The feeds coming in from Magento have created a lot of redundancies and duplicate products.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have a strategic plan for implementation so it can be used with ease by all users. Having a plan will help your organization best utilize the system to its fullest.

Salsify was brought into be a repository of assets for our organization to be able to use to find image assets. It is saving our graphics team hours every week by not having to complete image requests from various departments.
What do you like best?
It is very easy to search for items on Salisfy. It works just like a search engine would on an E-Commerce website. I also like that it has a download function where you can download all your entries into an Excel file.
What do you dislike?
When we first got Salsify you were able to click on the image at the top and get a zoomed in image (presumably the one you uploaded). Now when you click on the image at the top you get a thumbnail. I also hate that you have to scroll all the way down for alternate images. It would be nice to have those available first or on a separate tab at the top.

This helps us to keep track of all our data in one place. We are still in the process of creating our PIM, but this will potentially give us the ability to see search all of our hard data as well as our soft data. We would like to use it to upload content to accounts as well.
