Ryver is a comprehensive collaboration app that makes it easy and simple for team members to organise all of their work within a unified portal. The app provides users with unlimited chat, file sharing and conversational facility to keep every team member connected with each other. It also offers facilities like task management with the team, personal task boards besides specifying every detail of tasks with checklists, tags and assignments. With Ryver, users get the benefit of voice and video calls to communicate with any team member. It also includes a screen-sharing option with crisp and clear audio and video during calls. The app allows users to log in with their existing Active Directory or SAML-based Google G-Suite, Okta and OnePassword credentials. Thus strengthening regulatory compliance and reducing password reset requests. Users get support for any problem over the phone, email, and chat-based direct support facility, during regular business hours.

What do you like best?

It's got the typical functionality in a nice user interface.

What do you dislike?

The sine qua non of software functionality is the trade-off between what it can do and how easy it is to use. Ryver misses the boat on both accounts.

But worse, I found it to be a bait and switch on pricing. I signed up for one price, but then they charged me a different/higher price. And it took me lots of arguing to get back to our original agreement.

It was very painful communicating with them about features and pricing.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Don't use the product. There are many other competitors out there that are much easier to use and have more advanced functionality.

All we needed was a team collaboration tool like Slack, but in order to get basic features, they required an upgrade.

I liked that you can create different channels and also directly message individual team members.

What do you dislike?

It was another platform to check with minimal notifications. I didn't want to be bombarded with notifications, but if they're off I'd miss a slew of messages. The platform wasn't as simple as it could be or very engaging to keep staff members using it.

There are other communication tools available that are more user friendly and cost effective.

We were trying to solve problems with communication and transparency between leadership and staff. It was a novelty at first and encouraged openness. Staff felt comfortable sharing news, updates, and praises.

It is definitively a good alternative to slack, although a lot remains to be improved on mobile app. Currently it is only a webview which opens the ryver website and has issues with offline use of the app.

This is the default destination for our discussions related to product features and quick sharing of the UI/UX mockups. The task management saves a lot of time and provides an instantaneous way to convert the conversation into actionable points.
