What do you like best?
Relativity, as compared to other document review / case file management tools, is a powerhouse of capability. It's better than having all your documents in an access database, and having 20 database programmers to run queries and pull out files for you & etc.
What do you dislike?
There's no way to download files for later viewing. If I know I'm going to be on a plane w/o internet, or at a friend's cabin w/o internet, or etc., it would be really great if I could download the next several thousand documents to be reviewed to my local storage, and not have to access the cloud. In my own personal case, I'm a lawyer who picks up side income as a document review tech for big law firms, and I really enjoy that I can work remotely. I hate that I can't work *that* remotely, because I'm significantly limited by bandwidth--I can't work from any but the fastest connections. If I work from home, I can skate by if I'm fast and if I underbill my time. My brother and his wife and their two beautiful toddlers live 3 hours from me, and I love to visit them. I visit a lot less than I otherwise would, if I could work from their place. If I could download 3 days worth of files to review, or do downloads overnight, that would be a wonderful help to this problem.
Recommendations to others considering the product
The vendor who provides "tech support" gets paid when you pay for extra features like extra users or batch help... that tends to screw their incentives to make things simple and ensure things work right. It's not ideal. Be on your guard and protect your own interests.

What do you like best?
Relativity undoubtedly has everything one could possibly need in an e-discovery software program. I know there are features that I don't even know about within the program—that's how expansive the software's functionality is!
What do you dislike?
I think because there are so many features, Relativity can become clunky to use. I found it difficult to navigate to and perform simple tasks, like switching the view of a given document, or splitting the screen.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I might consider other e-discovery software that is a bit more user-friendly, if your priority is to ensure that those using the software can perform their duties quickly and efficiently.

Relativity certainly makes document review within large teams easier.
What do you like best?
Relativity does an alright job at allowing attorneys and paralegals do document review on cases that involve a multitude of documents. Tens of thousands to millions of documents can be processed through this system and program with ease. This is a major e-discovery software used for redacting and finding documents relevant to a case.
What do you dislike?
Relativity can be a bit slow at times. Off site implementation is also not the best.

Relativity will need support from the company now and then. Expect it.

Relativity is used to process large amounts of documents in an efficient manner for document review in determining whether documents are needed for a case. One of the main e-discovery softwares we use.

Interface is clean and updated, the software is generally fast to process requests

It is difficult to search for specific things and searches can be confusing

Relativity has become the industry standard for large scale ediscovery review. All ESI processing vendors understand the requirements for loading native discovery into Relativity, managing case flow, etc. We like that Relativity is a "common language" between parties, and that many best practices have been established with this product. In our use case, the environment is vendor-managed and maintained, which makes the process that much simpler.
What do you dislike?
Vendor-hosted Relativity is very, very expensive. Most vendors charge per GB for storage, then a licensing fee per named user. There are typically additional charges for near-duplicate detection, email threading, and concept clustering. All of the vendors we've used have adopted some variation of this model. This creates a cost unpredictability that is quite uncomfortable,

Thoroughly vet your choice of vendor if you are going with a SaaS deployment. To uncover all potential costs, and ask them to simulate the life of a complicated case, with waves of ediscovery loads and multiple productions. If they simply hand you a "menu" of pricing, run away as fast as you can!
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We are able to handle very large cases, with mountains of discovery, by using a product like Relativity, Making use of concept clustering, dedupe, near-dupe detection, and email threading dramatically reduce both review time and the number of reviewers needed. We are able to more quickly and efficiently identify key documents, and in many cases, discover critical records that would otherwise be buried.
