What do you like best?
It is easy to use for creating basic flows for test cases in the Salesforce framework. No need to much coding skills.
What do you dislike?
Sometimes it can be slow and a lot of bugs may prevent you to do what you want. The support team may not be fast enough for your queries. It needs a license to run which is quite expensive, however, it makes your automation testing more valuable if you can afford it.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
- It can cover most of you regression testing automated. It is pretty useful during releases and dry-run testing, as it can be set to work in multiple environments if configured properly. Also, it is quite good for data-driven testing, for instance, if you want to test data loads/migrations in a simple and effective way. You can leverage the spreadsheet (Excel, CSV, etc) OOO feature for reading and writing data. You can also take advantage of the database testing integrations.
What do you like best?
What I like best is that you don't necessarily need to know how to write code to use this product, but it definitely helps.
Support has been top-notch with quick response times and always available to jump on a zoom call within 24 hours of me submitting a ticket to request help with something.
I was very impressed with presale support and development of our POC.
What do you dislike?
To be able to test complex, customized Salesforce applications, you absolutely need to know Java and/or Selenium in order to write methods to perform actions that Provar doesn't know how to do with custom objects.
Object location is very hit or miss. Even if I have page objects created for the areas I'm writing new tests for, Provar by default will suggest either making a new page object, or using a locator that doesn't actually work. Requires an in-depth understanding of Xpath.
The tests are very sensitive to timing and environmental issues. A test step will fail, but if you step back and then continue forward again, it will pass. Very frustrating and prevents us from yet being able to deploy these to run autonomously. Requires user intervention for nearly every single run.
Very expensive yearly cost.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Let them provide a POC of your most complicated use case scenario to see if it can do what you need in the way that you wish to use it.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Provar consultants developed the first 10 smoke tests for our organization, which when run in Provar, take about 25 minutes if they run thru without any false failures. These manual tests take about 2 hours to complete. We are eliminating the need for our teams to spend their time running repetitive smoke tests, allowing them to do more exploratory testing.

What do you dislike?
-As a desktop application I feel its quite heavy and at time it takes time to load
-Overall test execution process needs improvement in terms of execution time
-Test maintainance can be improved

Very Nice tool for Automated Testing Salesforce.
It loads up the metadata.
What do you dislike?
It's Fragile but getting better. They are trying to get better with the new features and enhancements.

Running the automated scripts more for the regression and trying to get simulators for mobile testing ready.
We are able to run the Scripts through our CI and get to the tests pass and fail and can fix the tests.
What do you like best?
1. It works on metadata in Salesforce
2. Less chance of instability, works great though changes occur
3.CI/CD available
4. Remote execution possible

1. Enhancements can be done in UI but that is not dis satisfactory at this level
