What do you like best?
Customization for a large scale enterprise environment. It is able to meet the needs of our various clients.

What do you like best?
It's ability to filter out mass amounts of email very quickly and send the precise details to the end user as to avoid confusion. It shows the subject and the email it was sent from in the email that lets you know that it was quarantined which is really nice.
What do you dislike?
From everything I've used so far I dislike nothing, I know that isn't very helpful but I have had zero issues with the software. Every email that was quarantined was meant to be quarantined and I have received zero false positives so that's really good.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I am experiencing the product after everything has been setup, to the end user it really is seamless and all they experience is less spam. From an admin stand point I haven't done much yet but it does seem very simple.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Spam/Phishing attempts are now stopped before they get to the user which is very helpful. At some of the levels of operation these phisher's are able to reach it can be scary with no "shield". The main benefit we receive as a large email oriented business is another level of protection for sensitive data.
What do you like best?
The ability to sort mass amounts of e-mail messages quickly is extremely helpful. It shows the subject and the email it was sent from in the email that lets you know that it was quarantined which is really nice. I also really like that if recipients also use Proofpoint Email Encryption it can automatically decrypt the message as it passes through to the end user. This saves a lot of time and effort on both ends.
What do you dislike?
No major dislikes, but I did find the aesthetic layout a little unusual compared to our previous provider (things seemed a little less organized). Not a major issue, more a matter of preference.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Our business wanted a simple e-mail encryption system that was quick and efficient. E-mail encryption is now a regular practice in financial services. It needs to be both simple to use, but also effective. This service makes that possible.
What do you like best?
The fact that it filters the emails both efficiently and effectively yet still allows you to get the emails you need if they are falsely flagged. The best feature is its selling point which is protecting your users from phishing and scam attempts. It also saves the admin time because the admin will no longer get several questions as to whether or not an email is fake every day.
What do you dislike?
I have yet to experience anything I do not like about the program, I didn't do the setup of the system so i wouldn't know. Every email that has been captured so far after about a year of use has seemingly been correctly flagged. Nobody has asked me to retrieve an email from the nets and I haven't had to go in for anything I was 'supposed' to receive either.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My role primarily as a user and also an admin who helps to retrieve emails has lead me to have a positive outlook on this product. I get less work because less people are submitting tickets about emails and my users get more security and less unwanted emails. They still get warned about the emails so that's good too. Overall it works and it works well, I haven't had to use support yet though so I'm unsure on that.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
The largest benefit is how little spam and phishing attempts the end user actually receives now. That also is the problem we are solving by using it so everything is positive so far. Realistically this can't block everything but it sure tries.
What do you like best?
I think the best part of Proofpoint Email Encryption is that you can set the system up so that the message tries TLS first and if it can't negotiate the appropriate level of encryption, or possibly none, it will fallback to use the secure messaging portal. You can also set it up so that if your recipients also use Proofpoint Email Encryption it can automatically decrypt the message as it passes through so the end user doesn't have to mess with decryption at all. Again, this is optional...it's up to you.
What do you dislike?
There isn't a whole lot to dislike here. It works well and is easy to use from an admin perspective and more importantly an end-user perspective. Probably the biggest con is that if you send email to someone and it gets send via TLS, and they know their regulations (HIPAA, etc.), they might say something. Nothing went wrong but they were expecting an encrypted message but they don't know that it was encrypted between companies via TLS.

We were looking for a message encryption system that wasn't difficult to use. Many people in the medical field don't like the extra steps of mail encryption. It's getting better though. This solution bridges the gap well.
