What do you like best?
Advantages -
1.Easy for the instructor to update information.
2.The student has a direct contact with the curriculum.
3. Day to day update of the syllabus.
4. You can check your courses.
5. One can collate all their courses at one place.
6. This site can be used to preview all the upcoming courses.
7. Great way to immediately get feedback from teachers.
8. The dashboard contains the latest news that is chronologically sorted.
9. It is linked to Zoom and thus it makes it easy for people to hold zoom call meeting with the instructors.
What do you dislike?
Disadvantages -
1. Difficult to use.
2. Sends an email every time the teacher posts something.
3. Not user friendly.
4. It is difficult to track the updates as there are no email updates.
5. It may not be very easy to understand the usage.
6. It requires some assistance to understand when using it for the first time.

1. Being able to communicate with the teacher immediately.
2. Able to post comments on the go.
3. Able to interact with other classmates.
4. I am able to collate all resources in one place.
5. I can go back and revisit all the contents at anytime.
What do you like best?
The best feature about Moodle is how easy it is to set up a grade book and to email students simultaneously. It's easy to communicate final grades with the Registrar's Office.
What do you dislike?
Beyond the features that I have mentioned that I like, Moodle is clunky and not user-friendly. It's slow. If you try to set up an online question bank for quizzes, it takes about 2 minutes to upload a single question, meaning that writing exams takes a full weekend of working. Sometimes, grades go missing. Sometimes it changes the weights of assignments without informing people, leading to panicked students.
Recommendations to others considering the product
I would suggest either using it only to host your grade book. Otherwise, try for Canvas. It works so much better than Moodle.

We use this as an LMS to keep students grades easily visible to students, to organize classes, and stuff like that.
What do you like best?
It works well with publishers and other software like Zoom. The layout is simple, no images or fluff.
What do you dislike?
The gradebook is horrible and times out easily, and it does not communicate with third party sites like Turnitin after it times out. After 11 years of using it, I had to submit 6 grade changes out of 132 students because Turnitin timed out at a different time than Moodle. It did not communicate and record grades and did not tell me that this process did not happen. This also happened when I inputted actual items into my gradebook, so what should have been out of 950 in my Excel computed out of 835 for students. Each time the Zoom code was deleted, the participation points would disappear. It was a disaster. The grades for assignments would fluctuate from 10 to 100 points randomly.
Chaotic and unreliable at best.

Don't do it. Use Canvas.

It proved to me that my system of not relying on any LMS for grading is smart. I use paper and Excel.
Benefits are that it is an easy interface and experts well to Excel for easy comparison and quick troubleshooting.
What do you like best?
Easy and fast to set up and to be production ready with small to medium installations . Intuitive usage experience that leads to an easy acceptance from the users . It also has very good contextual guides that allow you to obtain a decent user experinece with a really small effort .
What do you dislike?
Performances are a N I G H T M A R E . . . As it is always the case with php , it's good for small to medium use case but does not fit " bigger " cases. Also community only support certain db forget it if you use oracle for example . The setup uses huge amount of R A M and is really hard to scale properly . Needs a lot of bare metal. sys admin ar e not happy about it . Really poor S . C . O . R . N . support . It is really hard to import data from other courses.

If you have less than 500 courses that's for you otherwise look elsewhere

E-learning courses for small to medium installation. We are giving about 300 courses reaching more or less 7500 students . They are quite happy with it but our system administrators are not . We give courses to users that logs in using ldap and get to see only the courses they can attend to

Many of the features were nice, overall it gets the job done
What do you dislike?
Very challenging to customize at times. Not able to add on features because University owns the account.
Recommendations to others considering the product
Difficult to use from an instructor role. Hard to customize many features (such as certificates. Several different ways to accomplish the same effect/setting, although it's not explained which method is best to use (i.e., requiring passing of specific quizzes w/ passing grade to complete course.
