What do you like best?
They have a relatively large Facebook group/community which can be helpful for new marketers. Their product works well, although it is slow and full of unnecessary design elements. There are areas like "attributes" that you can't even get to unless you go through a series of unclear steps which isn't documented at all. It's obvious that they are pushing their customers to join their Facebook groups to have the community and their affiliates upsell them!
What do you dislike?
Their terrible marketing ethics. Mobile Monkey sent me numerous e-mails (after I had unsubscribed several times), bot messages on FB, and auto-mated e-mail marketing newsletters. It's as if they either don't give AF or their 'unsubscribe' link is fake and does absolutely nothing. They have called me 6 in the morning twice already (all within 4 days!!). Every time they e-mail me I reply with please unsubscribe, not only they haven't replied to my concerns, but the same person, David Mercurio, their "Senior Account Executive" has continued to spam me, trying to upsell me with his template messages. This is just absurd! I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I have received less spam from signing up on unknown shady websites than I have from Mobile Monkey. Shame on them for creating such an image for our industry!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're the kind of person who values their time and prefers to not receive unsolicited messages, then reconsider your options. Mobile Monkey does not value or respect the industry norms when it comes to communication ethics. They called me at 6 in the morning back to back. They have sent private emails trying to upsell me regardless of my responses and wish to unsubscribe from their lists. Their e-mail newsletters are all broken down to horizontal lists (you have to unsubscribe from virtually every single e-mail newsletter). The personal e-mails don't even have an unsubscribe link even though they are all template messages!
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
I wanted to use a tool to help automate FB page messages. I found them through WordPress. Installed the free plugin at first and then upgraded to the 'Pro' version. Since then I have been using their own system to create my messaging bots and integrate them into my Facebook page. Their product does work and there is great benefit to automated chat marketing, however when the provider company, such as Mobile Monkey, cares less about their paying customers and spam/call them to the point to piss them off like they did with me, it's worth reconsidering if this is even worth it (it isn't cause there are plenty of other solution providers in this space).
Spam spam spam is all I ever get from these people. Email address taken from Wordstream by the very caring Larry Kim CEO and distributed to all and sundry - please die a slow death you horrible little man
Somehow this company has gotten hold of my email address and keeps on spamming me, despite repeated requests to remove my email address from their mailing list.
SPAM & HARASSMENT! Sent to FBI Division for online FRAUD! This dude is a pathetic. Ignores requests to remove my email from his crap mailing list, and then TARGETS me and Adds all of my other related domains/company emails onto his SPAM List. You are going down, down, down....
This company just spammed me out of the blue. Apparently I can capture email addresses and phone numbers from people that like my Facebook page. How about no! I do not go around trying to capture peoples contact details so I can spam them as you do!
