What do you like best?
The configuration aspects of configure 1 are excellent. Products, even complex ones, can be made with easy questions.
What do you dislike?
Here at Armstrong we seem to be trying to utilize the configurator beyond it's original capabilities. For creating quotes, and other more complex processes. These seem to be troublesome, as it doesn't seem to be what Configure 1 was designed for.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We have greatly simplified our quoting and part number creation for our custom sized products. We have the flexibility with our in-house configuration team to make changes in a day that would have taken a much longer time to complete before
What do you like best?
once setup, easy to maintain and get proper data.
What do you dislike?
Can be clunky sometimes, however, support has been receptive to resolve.

I think they are a good for small to mid-size company.

What do you like best?
The logic functionality allows for a vast array of possibilities. As a business analyst, the ability to run queries against the configure one database to find various information is a big plus. The system looks good and there are many possibilities that we can use the system for.
What do you dislike?
The UI seems overly complex with a lot of menu items which aren't always clear. Some things require a significant amount of configuration for a minor outcome. We also have had to come up with various work arounds or solutions to different problems that do not come as standard with configure one. Many of these are problems that we felt are likely common practice for companies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It will likely be more work than you're expecting and will ideally need 1 or 2 people full time to dedicate to the implementation. Utilise the help desk as the support team are very quick to respond and in most cases resolve the issue very quickly. The team are friendly and eager to help. Ideally the person implementing will have experience with HTML as this is something I found to be difficult to work on self sufficiently.

We are looking to optimise and simplify the quoting process within our company as well as ensure consistency across the business. As a company that has many offices around the world with various different systems and quoting procedures, we wanted to streamline this and bring everyone onto the same page.

C1 has allowed us to implement our industry's first configurator.
What do you dislike?
The complexity of what needed to be accomplished took us years to appreciate and implement.

We needed to build a BOM from what our customers had ordered. It allowed us to do that regardless of the uniqueness of the configuration. The accuracy sent to our shop floor has increased significantly.
What do you like best?
Stable Database, expansive admin area with a huge amount of user control and security rights. Many ways to handle different situations, easy to alias in as any user and see what they see. Workgroup function works very well.
What do you dislike?
All admin pages look identical - it's hard to learn to know where you are. You essentially have to become an expert with the software. Interface is a bit archaic - we are on v9, hopefully v11 is more than just a facelift, but I expect it to be about the same. Limited reporting features, limited additional modification to the main tab recordset views (columns).

We have many customizable products. We would not bea able to handle the amount of orders without hiring more people, so it takes care of the details once it is set up.
