What do you like best?
I like the Slack bot integration, especially when I'm able to accept a vacation request from within Slack.
What do you dislike?
The employee who was submitting hours for me to approve was regularly screwing it up and having to make second or third requests to update the hours. I wish they could just update the hours themselves. Also, the software should probably know that he didn't work 30+ hours in a row!
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Tracking vacation and intern hours. As a manager it's not super helpful, but I do like that it remembers how much vacation someone has used that year so far.
What do you like best?
The interface is very modern, and I thought it was relatively user-friendly (some of my staff disagreed, however). I really liked that I could set flows for PTO approval, so it could be OK'ed by their manager, and then sent to me to mark the calendar and get things settled from the HR end.
What do you dislike?
Because I was only using their time off management system, as opposed to both their time off and time clock systems, employees could not accrue time. I simply had it set that on the first of the year, they could see all 120 hours available to them. Despite instructions to employees that they needed to look at their timecard to get actual accruals, and that hourly employees may not accrue all 120 hours if they do not work a full workweek, etc, employees had a lot of difficulty understanding that what Calamari listed was not necessarily entirely accurate. And while I felt that this software was pretty intuitive, employees would often forget to change the dropdown type of time off (Bereavement was listed first, alphabetically), or asking for partial days off.
I chose not to use their time clock system because I did not like the options. I was looking for a kiosk or app that could be used with a PIN or biometric data or something else where it is not necessary to individually log in to clock in. Not all employees have a computer to use the browser. Using an iBeacon doesn't allow people to clock in/out for breaks, so that didn't work. Additionally, salaried employees could not accrue unless they also clocked in/out.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Using their time off management system is much better than the previous paper system we were using. It has saved time and money, and reduced errors.
What do you like best?
The Calendar for knowing who's in/out the office is great. easy for user and admin. Good to keep track of days off. platform is somewhat customizable. good support. integrates with google calendar. can clock in with qr code or from computer depending on settings
What do you dislike?
company is not in USA so have to pay through paypal which can feel and look a bit strange. employees do not all have the same amount of time off allowed per year so admin has to edit by hand days off each year for each employee

very easy to use. low learning curve. easy to set up new employees.

PROS & CONS
What are the best aspects of this product?
Before, we handled service requests with resources that were not explicitly designed for this function, so considerable manual efforts were needed. Just then, we moved to Calamari and this has kept the process a lot easier in both team leaders and staff. No one in the business organization has that much complaint. Calamari's service offers timely, supportive, and personalized aid for any software queries and concerns. In short, we 're pleased with Calamari and will keep using it.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
Few additional features are not self-explanatory but its customer service offers assistance in any concerns.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
Simple request process for leaves and authorization. Outright info on who's working on holidays. A great method to get basic personal data registered and handled.

PROS & CONS
What are the best aspects of this product?
The calendar is an excellent view of who is in or out of the office. User- and admin-friendly. Nice to keep records of off-days. The interface can be customized also. Integrates calendar with Google. Can clock in with QR or software code based on the setup. It also has great post-sale service too.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
Because the business is not in the United States, payment has to be via PayPal. That kinda feels awkward... Also, some workers have different off days each year hence we needed to manually update each one their day off every year. Which is very inefficient.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
Monitoring time off for staff, knowing who is coming or working for the day.
