What do you like best?
I like that you can archive profiles. The online search capabilities is a useful tool. It is also convenient that it keeps a records of tweets/news articles for 2 years. It is overall, a useful public environment analysis tool.
What do you dislike?
Twitter searching capabilities are not specific enough and using manual search options can be tedious. Not being able to upload your own monitoring content easily for Twitter (must prepare in excel spreadsheet and send to Agility PR rep. Quote function is not the most reliable either. - for news articles. Manually adding the tone for articles is also tedious. Also, not being able to collect keyword date, unless previously submitted and approved, is quite inconvenient. It would be useful if it worked more like twitter in that way, being able to retrieve old tweets, hashtags (that were not previously submitted for record keeping would improve the experience.
Recommendations to others considering the product
Book an intro session for all employees using the software, it was very helpful. I would also recommend scheduling a tutorial on the many tools available for Media Monitoring, its very informative and will allow you to best utilize Agility to your need. The staff has always been very helpful with questions and when additional support is needed.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Main function is for Media analysis. We use agility to archive news stories and to track social media trends (keyword based. it is useful for keeping track of public environment trends and stats.
What do you like best?
There is nothing to like here. Horrible employees. Shady sales people. Bad Data.
What do you dislike?
I have had many issues with Agility from fraudulent data to up their numbers to nightmare employees that don't care about anything besides locking suckers into contracts for their crap database. I have complained numerous times about their fraudulent data and they don't care at all. Not only that, I have tried to negotiate my price down if I paid in full because they locked me into a contract. Their finance person said I could not get a discount if paid in full but changed my statement to the full years price anyways. I spoke with the sales manager who told me they would return my payments to monthly and they never did. On Christmas eve they attempted to pull thousands of dollars from my Wells Fargo account multiple times. I never received any communications that they would do this and it was not approved of.
Agility sold me their database over the phone based on numbers that they could not prove exist. When I asked if I could explore the platform before deciding to purchase they told me "due to data security they couldn't allow me to, but I could do a skype run through with the salesperson." This makes sense but it would be extremely difficult if not impossible to understand the credibility of their data through a skype run-through with a salesperson.
Coming from Cision I though the industry norm was that email distributions were not limited. Not in Agility. They limit emails to 25,000. After fighting with Agility over this they finally agreed to give me 1,000,000 emails that they first put in a contract but voided so this agreement wouldn't be on paper. They then went against our agreement and limited the emails.
I sent a few pitches out of Agility and the results I got were horrible. Sending the same pitch through Cision provided 10X + the results. Getting into a contract with them has been by far the worst business decision I have ever made.
Don't be fooled by their responses here or the positive reviews, they do not care about their clients and if you have issues they will never be resolved.

cannot find relevant journalists due to restrictive categories that are not relevant for my field, not all coverage is picked up, so I have to rely on Google to find all coverage

The targeting features were fine; most of the reporters I was looking for were there.

Shady 90-day auto-renew - poor business practice.

Help me target influencers; found some good leads but UX is poor
Sad to say that after choosing Agility PR for its managed press contact database, we found the platform to be lacking a lot of features (and polish) available in competing platforms. And while we could look past that, what has totally soured our expeirence with Agility was their decision to force a contract renewal despite a request by our team to not renew within days of a deadline.
When we met with their team to discuss the impass months before the end of our Year 1 contract, they were not understanding, did not in anyway attempt to meet us half way or ensure we were happy as a customer, and instead made insinuations about our business and flimsy excuses for why they couldn't "let us out" of the contract.
Frankly, it felt like the same sleezy tatcics college apartments use to lock students into another year of rent.
After our experience, I couldn't possibly recommend Agility. In fact, I look forward to the day we take our business elsewhere.
